About Valyntina Grenier
As a multi-genre artist living in Tucson, Arizona, my work advocates for our planet and all her vulnerable mortals. I've written two poetry chapbooks, Fever Dream/ Take Heart (Cathexis Northwest Press, 2020) and In Our Now (Finishing Line Press, 2022). Graduating with a BA in English from UC Berkeley and an MFA in poetry from St. Mary's College of CA, I'm mostly self-taught as a visual artist. For the past dozen years I've maintained a consistent and expanding body of visual art in paint, Neon, encaustic medium, and recycled or repurposed materials.
I continue to have work from multiple series published in print and online. Don't Shoot protests gun violence; Radio Ocean is ecological art; Over His Eye is dedicated to racial and gender equality; and Cloud Show | Utopia is inspired by LGBTQIA pride. You can hear, see or read about my recent work in The Impossible Beast: Queer Erotic Poems (Damaged Goods Press, 2020), Bat City Review, Beyond Words Magazine, Cathexis Northwest Press, Gaze, High Shelf Press, Impermanent Earth, Lavender Review, The Night Heron Barks, Sunspot Literary Journal and Wild Roof. Find me on Insta @valyntinagrenier or valyntinagrenier.com. Look for forthcoming poetry, an interview or visual art in the next issues of Genre: Urban Arts, The Journal and Lana Turner.
